As an American teenager, studying French “en France” during the summer of 1967, I will never forget catching sight of my namesake, Joan, kneeling..open-armed and face upturned…at the feet of Christ in Majesty in the spectacular mosaic of the Basilica of the Sacre-Coeur in Paris (Montmarte). Joan. The teenager who God chose to lead the armies of France. Incroyable. Gloire a Dieu!
Joan's story rings true even today. She can teach us, to never give up on faith no matter what darkness we are facing. And that we will get through it no matter what.
Except she didn’t get through it. Did she? She was tortured and murdered by the authorities she trusted. The lesson I get from her life is “Trust No One” but it’s good others see something positive to it all.

Think ppl wold b upset if we pointed out that Joan was most likely to have had schizophrenia? a mental illness that begins showing up in puberty, marked by a feverish belief in religion and hallucinations and let's not forget the classic hearing of voices. that like to tell the sufferer what to do. Just saying.

You have an INCREDIBLE gift. It goes beyond graphic design and photo manipulation. It's like these people's souls are shining through your portraits of them. You not only managed to capture Joan's physical appearance, but you also made her look French (however that's possible). Moreover, you captured her courage, grave eyes, and joyful demeanor as described, all in one image.
While it will indeed be exciting to meet Jeanne and others like her, what will be truly amazing to see is how people in our very neighborhoods valiantly fought and won against enemies untold, invisible to others.
That is the best, most succinct and lush description of Joan's career I've ever encountered. I think she looked exactly as you depict her. Love your channel. I never really got how she went awry because most retellings are so full of her saintliness that you can't imagine a flaw or mistake. She just wouldn't stop fighting. But she was young and she was human. Thanks for telling the story without diminishing her power and importance. She really did act like a Hand of God.
The historical story that you've told in this instance, of Joan of Arc, and all of the other historical figures, is just incredible. The intricate details make you feel like you know them.

The testimonies about her physical appearance in her rehabilitation trial converge to say that she was stunningly beautiful and pure, inspiring respect and good thoughts.
I have always had a strong liking for Joan of Arc. When I was a teen, I read Mark Twain’s “Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc.” It’s very good historical fiction that has real history including her trial. The author modeled Joan on his own daughter who sadly died at the same age as Joan. Thank you, you do an excellent job.
Thank you so much for this one; fantastic work and story telling. During my Chemin Saint Jacques pilgrimage, I was forced to stop in Orléans, so I visited the cathedral. The large window dedicated to Saint Jeanne D'arc is phenomenal; it was a blessing to read and understand more of her history there...I fell in love with her and her story; her feast day (30 May) is one I celebrate. Again, thank you...
It was indeed chilling, esp. in everyday clothing. As a Californian, I have my own patron saint, Paramahansa Yogananda,. I always remember what Yoganandaji said about meeting a friend from a past life, "do you like everything about them, immediately?" Such was my response when I finally set my eyes on Ste. Jeanne at the end of this movie. Of course, we can only imagine what Jeanne would tell us today, when evil descends upon mankind like a plague. Perhaps, "Be still, and know that I am God." ⚜⚜⚜
My children and I really enjoy listening to these videos as we go to school and then once we arrive we look at the picture at the end. Learning about people that they probably would never learn about at school, broadening their minds and I'm learning so much as well. Thank you!
After all she did for him, that "king" wouldn't even lift a finger to help her when she needed him. I hope you do queen Boudica too someday. Shes an icon! Queen Elizabeth I admired her greatly and used her story as an example of her own reign.
There is a context. Very young Charles is already known to be a bit soft and indolent, and then he gets caught up in the usual succession disputes and court intrigues. His own mother turned against her 16-year-old son, forming a government to rival that of her son. The latter was disinherited by his own mother and declared a bastard. In addition, his mother supported the marriage of one of her daughters, Catherine de Valois, to Henry V of England and had her son-in-law recognised as heir to the kingdom of France in place of her own son Charles. Charles VII had a temperament that was constantly under influence, first from his mother, then from advisors and other powerful people, and finally including his favourite Agnès Sorel. A weak man whose adolescence had been too violent not to hope for order and peace. He probably never wanted to be king, and he probably wasn't cut out for it.

This made me emotional, I admire her so much. Currently working on a sleeve for myself of her and I love watching these and learning so much about her.
Trying to diminish St. Joan's accomplishments by describing her as a schizophrenic does a great disservice to all that goes into making up a person and, moreover, denigrating an astonishing woman who was able to do what no man nor a King could. She was unparalleled and a worthy savior of France. Show a little respect.
@benlesher9794 I don't think those who put Joan down, can't property reason what she actually did! Small minds can't dream up what Joan actually did accomplish.
She looks so lovely in your modern interpretation of her! Thank you so much for this wonderful video! I have been an admirer of Saint Joan of arc since childhood.
Thank you for telling her story so well. She learned patience, disci- pline, and diligence as a young girl, doing her chores; and received religious training from her mother and church. Very impressive video! ✝️
She certainly has been taugh as his father wasnt a poor peasant at all despite what the legend say about it. However this takes nothing away from her great merit and her prodigious abilities in many fields, particularly in the art of war.

The great silent film, "The Passion of Joan of Arc" (1928)," directed by Carl Dryer, is a timeless and definitive depiction of the trial of Jeanne d’Arc. I truly believe an historical epic of fitting scope must and will inevitably be produced about her life one day, once a major studio recognizes just how inspiring such a magnificent story would be to the entire world.

I discovered your channel today. The face reveal is great, but the straight to the point history set up and how you got to your conclusion on how they might have looked like is what makes this channel Excellent.
The story presented is so absorbing that by the time it's finished, I had forgotten about the facial recreation and thought "oh, that's right. I came here for the recreated face, but now it's a cherry on top of the amazing story."

This was beautiful. I cried when I saw 10:30 and 11:41 and many other moments. The music, the narration, the images. Her story is true and so moving. It is amazing what God can do in a life yielded to Him. She makes me think of King David as she would tend the sheep and she too had no combat experience yet she was strategic and fought like a seasoned warrior. The Spirit of God was definitely in her. I have no doubts.
What a incredible young woman! Gathering the attention of so many men and helping lead them into battle, all because of her faith... what a heroine! Made me emotional seeing her at the end.

This could not have been a better time to see this video. We’ve just returned from Rouen, where we were lucky to see the cross that was shown to Jeanne d’Arc right before her execution. It was displayed at the church named after her during Rouen Armada, which we were recording for our channel, that just came to an end today. Your representation of Jeanne is very touching and somehow feels closest to what she may have looked. Thank you for the inspiration!
The amount of effort, art and elegance put in the video is amazing. Thank you so much for all the creative videos and waiting for more to come… best of luck.
That name itself, Joan of Arc (or d'Arc), to me sounds so elegant and saintly. This stunning presentation opens most of her shroud of its mystery to me. And I agree, if we do her facial-recreation, she most probably will look like what you have shown here.

This presentation was beautifully done. The lady’s voice was easy to listen to (one prays it was not AI-was not false -but either way it was quietly spoken, unlike so many Joan of Arc and other historical documentaries i tried to watch but were so aggressive and cheaply overdramatised that i could not persist with them). I sure hope the rest of this channel is as good. I want to thank the producers very much

Love that!
Except she didn’t get through it. Did she? She was tortured and murdered by the authorities she trusted. The lesson I get from her life is “Trust No One” but it’s good others see something positive to it all.
@@kristenrock7783 yes exactly!! She is such an inspiration
@@selecttravelvacations7472 That was the same treatment other legends received, like Germanicus, Belisarius and their Chinese peers. The imperial system is so good at repressing and exterminating talent, it is no wonder they rose and fell as quickly as they did
Think ppl wold b upset if we pointed out that Joan was most likely to have had schizophrenia? a mental illness that begins showing up in puberty, marked by a feverish belief in religion and hallucinations and let's not forget the classic hearing of voices. that like to tell the sufferer what to do. Just saying.
I always say to myself to just skip to the recreation and then I end up listening to the whole story! The final reveals always give me a chill. Thank you for your work!
Merci à vous d'honorer cette si noble âme !
Nothing but love ❤️ for her,,,,one of only a few people I would go back in time to meet.
Your work is always beautiful and you present it with a lot of enthusiasm. Perfect mix of history and stunning real life recreations. Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much!
This video made me tear up. I hope and pray to meet her in heaven. What a gift from God to humanity.
Thanks so much! I am writing a theology paper on Joan and I have French heritage and she has been my guardian angel throughout many hard times in life
She is my conformation saint. I have been fascinated by her story from childhood
From the first time I’d heard Joan’s story, I was obsessed. Even if she was mentally ill, her courage is unmatched.
Why would she be mentally ill?! Far from it!
This should be a strong message to men who put women/ girls down and cause them harm..a young ordinary girl who saved France and showed such a courageous spirit! 🦋🌈
Thank you for sharing this brilliant/ history 💥
A little bit of Ste. Jeanne was with Carly Simon when she found the courage to tell an obese orange sun tanned rapist and real estate developer to "Get your hands off me, or you'll live to regret it," at Studio 54 in NYC in 1978. ⚜

She is stunning

I LOVE your biography and reconstruction of my great, great... aunt and lifelong hero. She’s an inspiration to all of France and much of the world.
I just love coming to the comments of these beautiful videos to find other people who were and are just as obsessed and moved as I am. I loved Joan of Arc growing up. It's so nice to see so many feel the same!
I think you guys have some of the best recreations out of any channel! I love them so much! I think Joan is a fascinating figure, and I’m so glad you’ve done them. I would love to see you guys do Katheryn Howard, Queen Consort of England and Ireland, or Katherine Parr, or Queen Anne, first official monarch of Great Britain
There is a Kathryn Howard reconstruction available.

Chills. As soon as it revealed the wholeface, I could absolutely agree that I could be looking at a depiction of Joan of Arc. Really, well done.
Thank you!
I love your creations. When I want to get a visual image of a historical figure, I turn to your art.
After all she did for him, that "king" wouldn't even lift a finger to help her when she needed him. I hope you do queen Boudica too someday. Shes an icon! Queen Elizabeth I admired her greatly and used her story as an example of her own reign.
I was always been outraged by Charles' abandonment of Joan after her capture.
@@Petitmoi74 It is possible that Charles was actually illegitimate because both of his parents were very unfaithful.
We will never know exactly what she looked like , but what an inspiration she was .

This has to be one the most incredible portraits that you've done so far. Based on my own reading, it takes into consideration all the reliable accounts of her appearance, right down to her ruddy complexion. Well done!
Thank you so much! It was challenging with not much to go on, but I think it turned out really well :)
God Bless you Joan. That face is so real. Wish i could have a copy of this picture. Love the background music too !!
OMG, these make me cry. I am so grateful. These people come to life for me. Thank you so so much for these videos.
Wow! The original Joan looks exactly like our french foreign exchange student Emilie (from strasbourg france). Your work is incredible!!! Emilie lived with us for a year in 1989. She invited me to Strasbourg in 1992. Beautiful heart / amazing woman. (All of you). 😊
I did a 9 day NOVENA of prayers to Joan of Arc last year, and after waking up on the 10th day to go to prayers, ohh my what results! very POWERFUL is she! 🎉❤
I really appreciate the respect you gave her in the way you spoke about her and told her story. Thank you so much for making this
I have always loved history, but when you bring these people to life it has a whole meaning.
I feel like her depiction came very close to Falconetti's Joan!
There have been 2 very good ones and one that was alright.
Yes agree overall, especially those large dark and grave eyes that both seemed to possess! @@clairepettie
Hi, I found your videos on my suggestion feed. I am so touched. I was born and raised near where Jeanne was born and raised. She is , of course, my mothers favourite Saint. Her story inspired so many. Women and men alike. It was touching to see her becoming alive thanks to your input and technology. Merci beaucoup.

24:35 I saw a French tourist who looked EXACTLY like this modern rendition of Joan several years ago. Only her hair was a little more frizzy/curly. This is definitely a French phenotype that currently exists in the modern French population!

Beautifully done!
I cried watching this, it was such a tragic story. Even after all these years after her passing, she is still very inspiring.
My parents took me and my two brothers to Domrémy when we were children in the early 1960s. She has always been an inspiration.
Very well done. Joan lives, protecting us to this day.
Your final depiction of her looks much like her physical description as written. She is my ultimate hero, to me one far surpassing any other.

That name itself, Joan of Arc (or d'Arc), to me sounds so elegant and saintly. This stunning presentation opens most of her shroud of its mystery to me. And I agree, if we do her facial-recreation, she most probably will look like what you have shown here.
Thank you so very much for your artist impressions! I LOVE history and I am impressed by your research into these people! It is AMAZING how you continue to make history come alive! I have referred my friends who are history teachers to your channel so that they have their students see your work!
From this depiction Joan truly looks French. Very beautifully done! Wonderful rendition of Joan and the history behind her.
I really like the expert storytelling. It's just great to have a context, story before we "meet" with the hero.
